Black Russian Recipe

What is in a black russian

The Black Russian recipe is a famous cocktail recipe that was introduced way back in 1949 by a hotel bartender in Brussels, the capital of Belgium. The name of the hotel bartender was Gustav Tops who has made this cocktail very much popularized in the bars and hotels of Belgium. He used to make this cocktail for Perle Skirvin Mesta who was an American ambassador. According to rumor, supposedly this superb cocktail was very much encouraged by Perle Skirvin Mesta.   As every cocktail aficionado will tell you, almost any cocktail that has Russian influence will have quite a bit of vodka as a main constituent.   However, this classic recipe is different from other cocktails of similar ancestry in its pleasing mixture of vodka and coffee liqueur.

What is a Black Russian?

The Black Russian  is a renowned cocktail drink that is simply based upon basic vodka and coffee liqueur drink. This is such an appreciated drink throughout the world and should be at the first position in the list of all popular cocktails which every hopeful bartender would love to learn. The name was given to this cocktail due to the dark color of the drink which appears after the addition of coffee liqueur. It is also referred to as a cocktail, that is served with ice, but no garnish.  This particular mixture is most likely one of the most effortless and simple of the cocktails that is prepared and is easier to make in comparison to most other Russian cocktails. When making this great cocktail, one may also use cocktail shakers. One can definitely serve this as an after dinner dessert drink, since the vodka doesn’t bear any taste and the coffee liqueur has a sweet taste. Not only you can get this superb drink into the great restaurants of Belgium, but also you can make it in your home if you have all the ingredients with you.
